MGPPU (Sretenka 29, metro Sukharevskaya) invites to collaboration notable public figures, men of science, cultural workers, men of education, men of big and small business, managers of different institutions, MGPPU graduating students, who want to become Board of Regents members.

The University is a unique educational organization, established upon the initiative of the Moscow Department of Education. Notwithstanding its short history, it is widely known by institutions of higher professional education. The University keeps up the best traditions of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Education, founded by the notable Russian scientist Professor Chepalov G.I.

The best professors, specialists and staff scientists of this Institute develop knowledge to our students in the field of fundamental and applied psychology, and that is the particularly important is that they hand on traditions of classical Russian science. Another characteristic feature of the University is its organic connection with social practice. In this way the real integration of science, education and practice is achieved, providing the solution of actual problems of our society.

MGPPU – means 8 departments and 8 various specialities and traits of higher professional education, a practice-oriented psychological University.

MGPPU – is a University, realizing two-level professional training – “college-institute of higher education”. A socio-pedagogical college is included in its structure.

MGPPU – is more than 3,5 thousand students and post-graduates, 380 teachers (including 55 professors and doctors of Philosophy, and more than 230 senior lecturers and Candidates of science).

MGPPU – is 16 Laureates of the RF President Prize in the field of education, 9 Laureates of the RF Government Prize in the field of education, 4 persons are awarded K.D.Ushinsky medals.

MGPPU – is up-to-date means and methods of education, modern laboratories and computer classes.

MGPPU – is advanced science, applied and abstract. Numerous publications of University members were translated into foreign languages and published abroad.

MGPPU has fundamental city psychological library. Its fund includes more than 67000 copies of textbooks and scientific literature. Three branches are established in different Moscow districts.

MGPPU has its own publishing and printing complex, and more than 200 PCs, all educational buildings are supplied with local information networks and INTERNET.

OUR STUDENTS have an opportunity to receive an additional professional qualification “Translator in the field of professional communication”, in addition to the diploma for major educational programs.

OUR GRADUATES work in the field of education, science, business, industry and culture.

The lines of cooperation are the following: interchange of teachers, postgraduates and students; activity for mutual recognition of diplomas; joint development of research projects, carrying out scientific-and-practical conferences, workshops and summer training courses; lecturing by the invited professors.

The University is included in the 16th reference edition “University Guide”, issuing by the UNESCO Documentation Center for Higher Education Matters. The complete information on the University is contained also in the UNESCO Data Bank for higher educational institutions.

The University was established in 1997, and has State status. The University founders are the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Department of Education. MGPPU is included in the University complex- the oldest in Europe Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Education (PI RAO). The program “College of teacher education – higher educational institution” is focused on collaboration of the University with colleges of teacher education of Moscow – Moscow Socio-Pedagogic College, K.D.Ushinsky Training School №1, colleges of teacher education № 5, 6, 12. Big practical work is hold in the University.

The University is regulating international connections and cooperates with foreign Universities.

The lines of cooperation are the following: interchange of teachers, postgraduates and students, activity for mutual recognition of diplomas, joint development of research projects, carrying out scientific-and-practical conferences, workshops and summer training courses, lecturing by the invited professors. According to the decree of the Moscow Government near abroad nationals are taught in the University: CIS and Baltic countries.

The University is cooperating with Wisconsin University (Madison, USA), Montclair University (New Jersey), Paris-8 University (Sorbonne), the Association of Psychological Higher Educational Institutions and Academic Institutes of the Academy of Science of China, the University of Chuo (Tokyo, Japan), the faculty of medical psychology of Rome University (Italy).

MGPPU is a leading scientific-methodical center of practical psychology service of city education. There are Urgent Psychological Aid Centers. A great attention is paid to the extracurricular activity: sport, excursions, winter and summer students’ camps and rest homes. It is our everyday practice. Professions, which our post-graduates get, become more and more actual.
